No matter how big the meal, I am one of those people who always has room for dessert. On the average weeknight, I usually just have a piece of chocolate after dinner. But if we’re having company, I like to make a little something special. Most of these recipes can be made ahead, so they are ideal for entertaining. Several of these could also work for breakfast or when hosting a brunch party. Recipes serve 4 unless otherwise noted.
I love the mix of savory and sweet in this buttery shortbread. I make one big “cookie” in a pie tin and cut it into wedges.
