Marie Rayner is the author of the award-winning blog The English Kitchen, where she aims to "debunk the myths of English cookery, one recipe at a time," with her unique North American spin. Canadian by birth, she moved to the UK in 2000. After her arrival, she worked as a personal chef for many years, before retiring in 2010. She was the recipient of the British Turkey Blogger of the Year Industry Award in 2012, and her blog sits consistently amongst the top cookery blogs in the country. Her work has been featured in multiple on-line and off-line magazines and articles, having also been featured in The Times and other publications. As well as cooking and writing about her culinary experiences, she is a keen artist, having written and illustrated several children's books, as well as greeting cards, rubber stamps, calendars, and other works of inspiration. She makes her home in Chester, UK, where she lives with her husband Todd and their much beloved English Cocker, Mitzie.
