Pranzi di Gala

Here we arrive at the main event. These important dinners are always black tie and the formalities extend to the dishes we serve too. I always strive to offer a certain ‘wow factor’ on these occasions. The menu is meticulously planned along with wine pairing for each dish, as it needs to reflect the calibre of the event. It’s a much more glamorous occasion and one where I’m able to show off a bit.

The dishes in this chapter are a bit more sophisticated and refined, involving slightly more skill. I can force my hand and be a bit more creative, as I know this will be appreciated by the guests, who more often than not will be used to a certain level of fine dining. Everyone from the likes of Valentino, Stanley Tucci, Boris Becker and even Victoria Beckham has attended a gala dinner at the Italian Embassy at some point.
