Cathy Barrow, the author of the food blog Mrs. Wheelbarrow's Kitchen, is a canning and cooking teacher and food preservation expert. Barrow writes the "DIY" column in the Washington Post's Food section, is a regular contributor to All Recipes magazine and develops recipes and a canning video for Saveur. She has written for the New York Times, Garden and Gun, Southern Living, NPR, and National Geographic, among others. She lives in Washington, DC, with her husband, Dennis, two terriers, and an all-white cat. In 2015, she won the IACP Award for best single-subject cookbook for Mrs. Wheelbarrow's Practical Pantry.
