Emma Gardner is the baker behind Poires au Chocolat, a blog that focuses on sweet recipes and the stories, science, history and techniques that surround them.
Poires au Chocolat has won two Guild of Food Writers Awards (Food Blog of the Year 2012 & 2014) and was described by the 2014 jurors as the “consummate baking blog, as near perfect as might be”. Emma also won the ‘Best Use of Video’ award at The SAVEUR Best Food Blog Awards in 2014 and was named one of ‘2015’s most talented young bakers’ by Waitrose Magazine.
Having started Poires au Chocolat in her first year of university in 2009 (whilst studying medieval literature), things came full circle when Emma retired from near-full-time blogging and writing in 2014 in order to go back to university and train as a doctor. Emma recently finished her first year of medicine and still loves baking and talking about food and blogging.
