Making homemade wine is a rewarding experience – the simple act of turning homegrown ingredients into alcohol through the miracle of science and nature is a beautiful thing.
There can be few things as hypnotic as a stream of bubbles rising through an airlock. You know that with each ‘plop’ of gas, another drop of alcohol has been produced and your homemade wine is one step closer to being ready. However, the science is rarely exact, and nature is unpredictable, so you can never be too certain quite how your wine will turn out. But we consider that unpredictability one of the additional joys of wine making.
