  • About
A Both of us Love Sandwiches. We love pizza. And we have no shame in saying that we love eggs, which have become, more than just about any other food, the great forbidden favorite of the food police. The surprise is that while these foods can be nutrition disasters, sandwiches, pizza, and eggs, when prepared right, can also fit nicely into a healthier approach to eating.

Like pasta and potatoes, sandwiches are a misunderstood food. Remember the time when if you were watching your weight, you’d have a roast beef sandwich without the bread? Mistakenly, we’d consume up to a quarter pound of fat- and cholesterol-laden beef, while avoiding the bread, which itself offers beneficial carbohydrates with very little fat. And if that bread is whole wheat or other whole grain, there are additional nutrient benefits, along with a healthy dose of fiber.
