Over the span of his 15-year career in the restaurant industry, Brad McDonald has been a leader amongst his peers, having co-owned and operated three restaurants in Brooklyn, New York, earning him accolades from critics and respect from fellow chefs. Born in small-town Mississippi, a career in the kitchen was an unusual choice for a boy from Yazoo City, but from the time he was young and cooking wild game with his father or baking with his mother, it was a natural calling. Brad got his professional start under the much- acclaimed Southern Chef John Currence. His time at The City Grocery in Oxford, MS, proved to be the springboard to working aside some of the world’s best chefs, including leading roles at Alain Ducasse, Per Se and Noma restaurants. Brad re-launched The Lockhart in Marylebone. Since January 2014, the refined Southern American restaurant has been met with nearly universal praise for it’s distinctively different take on classic dishes. The Lockhart has become the leading American restaurant in London, earning Brad Tatler Magazine’s Best New Chef of the Year in 2014.
