  • About
Fruit at the moment of perfect ripeness is always going to be a joy. It does not have to be exotic to be special. Think of all the different apples we can now buy seasonally. The benefit of a global larder is that we can have many kinds of fruit in peak condition for more of the year, though nothing compares with locally grown fruit.
English strawberries, raspberries and cherries, picked at their best and eaten as soon afterwards as possible, will always be better than the same soft fruits flown in from the other side of the world, not to mention cheaper.
